The European Commission has published the May 2025 infringement package, which sets out the EU Member States the Commission is taking action against for failing to comply with their obligations under EU law. The May 2025 infringement includes formal notice letters, reasoned opinions, and Court of Justice referrals issued to countries including Czechia, Portugal, Ireland, Slovakia, Italy, France, Hungary, Greece, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. Key relevant legislation includes the Water Framework Directive, the Landfill Directive, the Single-Use Plastics Directive, the Qualification Directive, the Digital Services Act, and the NIS 2 Directive, among others.
